Wordless Wednesday: Dance Card from Zeta Psi Frat, 1923
My late father-in-law, Edgar James Wood, kept a scrapbook of his college years. As a member of the Kappa Chapter of Zeta Psi Fraternity at Tufts, he enjoyed many frat and sorority dances--and held onto the dance cards from each one.
Above, a page from his scrapbook, showing some of the programs/dance cards.
Left, his dance card from a pledge dance in January, 1923.

How fun! Wouldn't you like to know a little more about the young ladies listed?!?
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, it would be really interesting to know more. Some of these names appear on later dance cards as well. But Edgar didn't meet his wife until years later, so her name won't appear on any of these :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of dance cards but never seen any until your post. How neat.
ReplyDeleteDee at Shakin' the Family Tree
Hi Dee, I have a number of dance cards from Ed's college years. Most look just like this, printed as part of a dinner or luncheon dance with the menu listed, the date/time/place, and sponsors--frat as well as "adult" sponsors who paid or chaperoned. Who knew? Thanks for reading....Marian
