Motivation Monday: Grand Reopening

Thanks to Betty's Boneyard, I received the "One Lovely Blog" award. That got me thinking: Wasn't it time to spruce up my blog's picture window? So I did a little tidying up this weekend and came up with this new look. Welcome to my grand reopening! And thank you, Betty, for the little push I needed to get motivated.

In the next week or so, I'm going to tell the story of my time working in the main Sam Goody store in Manhattan. You thought Sam Goody was just a music brand? He was a smart entrepreneur from the LP era who built a chain of record stores but still counted cash, on occasion, with a comptometer (like the one above but bigger and older). Got a problem with your turntable? He'd suggest putting a penny on the tone arm. No kidding. Stay tuned. Thank you so much for reading!

Your new design is very nice, I like the wide open space (I did mine over rather recently too). Can't wait to read your piece about Sam Goody, so timely as I want to sell my LP collection.

Nice job on the revamp Marian! I'll be tuning back in also. My son collects whole room lined with shelves of them! (Hey Barbara..might have a buyer for you!)

Thanks, Lisa! So happy you took a moment to look in on my blog. I'm a writer, not a designer and not a techie, so redoing the blog made me nervous but the result was worth it. Thanks again,
